Short people prefer the lower half of their body to the upper body, so always go for short hemlines, because some fashion myth says they cannot wear maxi pieces..
But note this, Fashion-lovers love to dole
out rules. If you’ve been following along here, you know we are no
exception – but we are definitely not fans of anyone who says that only
certain body types can pull off certain styles!.
Contrary to popular belief , you do NOT have
to be tall and thin to make this style look fan-freaking-tastic. It’s
all a matter of figuring out how to make it work for you.
Here are some dos and don’ts for maxi styling..
Number 1:DO: Try the trend even if you don’t think it’s right for you. You may be surprised by how much you love it.
DON’T: Let anyone tell you that you won’t look good in a maxi. That’s bullying and you shouldn’t stand for it.
Number 2:
DO: Keep it in balance. If you’re covering your legs you can show your arms and maybe even your chest (tastefully of course).
DON’T: Wear something
oversized on top. If you want to do the sweater-with-maxi thing, wear a
lightweight sweater that falls gracefully, not one that is oversized and
slouchy.
Number 3:
DO: Dare to wear a crop top! It’s a great way to showcase the bod you’ve worked all spring for.
DON’T: Wear the crop top unless your maxi is a bit high-waisted. Don’t be that girl who looks like she’s trying too hard.Number 4:
DO: Spend a bit on a good maxi skirt or dress. A good material will be way more flattering and fall really well, while cheaper material will look…well, cheap.
DON’T: Wear a clingy maxi
dress or skirt. No matter how thin and lump-free you are, you will look
better in one that floats around you body – the movement is incredible.
Number 5:
DO: Get your maxi hemmed or tailored if it doesn’t look right. You want to keep it in proportion.
DON’T: Be afraid to wear sky-high heels under your maxi. Sandals and wedges work best and will make the look so much more flattering.
